Issues affecting Builth & neighbouring areas.

On Monday the Mayor, Cllr Hammond, had a conversation with County Councillor Jeremy Pugh (Builth Wells), County Councillor Bryan Davies (Llanafanfawr with Garth) and County Councillor Gareth E Jones (Llanelwedd) regarding some of the important key issues that are/will be jointly affecting our areas.

These issues included the current Powys County Council consultation regarding the proposed changes to Ysgol Calon Cymru & Builth CP School together with the potential effects on neighbouring areas / the proposed Trunk Road Agency changes to the Castle Street/Station Road/Broad Street road junction layout, River Wye flooding issues, access to health services and Wind Farms & Pylons.

The conversations revolved around the best ways to raise public awareness of the effect these issues are actually going to have and to increase public engagement in consultation processes or other ways of ensuring their voices are heard. Further work on this will be on going over the next few weeks.
