Builth Wells Aquathlon

From the Builth Wells Aquathlon Committee: our third charity Builth Wells Aquathlon which is taking place on Sunday 9th August.

There is an early bird discount for all those who register to take part before the 31 January. It comprises a swim at Freedom Leisure in Builth, followed by a run round The Groe.

We choose a different charity each year to support: we started this event in 2024 and raised £4k for Cancer Research, and last year we raised another £4k for The Bracken Trust. We are hoping to raise a similar amount, if not more, for Wales Air Ambulance this year.

Our aim is that it's a nice community event, and just something a bit different, which we're trying to keep as accessible as possible with a variety of distances and a low entry fee.

We've even introduced a relay event this year, so that people who can't swim (or run) can buddy up with a friend or family member - so one person does the swim, and the other does the run.

People can even walk the course too, if they're unable to run it. The age range of those taking part last year was 12 to 81 - so we feel it really is an event for all ages and abilities.
